Spore

In the past few days, I've been getting back (if you can really get BACK into something that's less than two months old) into playing Spore.  I'm currently attempting to beat the space stage, which is the last stage of the game.  If you're a gamer with little else to do, you have to check it out.  It was made by Wil Wright, the creator of the Sims, a simulator of life.  Spore is a simulator of the process of evolution, from a single-celled organism, to life on land as a creature, to development of culture as a tribe, to industrial growth as a city, to space exploration.

Anyway, check out Spore, so that you can understand why I'm often sitting with my face glued to my laptop screen.

It's been a pretty uneventful day, as usual...Math, doctor's appointment for this stupid pinkeye (which is going away now, yay!), Spore, shower, lunch, choir, Wiki class, and now I'm sitting in the Union on my laptop.  I'm currently waiting for the beginning of a candlelight vigil for Haroon Khan, a UWM student who was murdered two weeks ago while selling his car.  R.I.P. Haroon.

I'm also really hungry, and now have no choice but to wait until I get back to the dorm to eat some sort of crappy microwaveable junk.  Yum!

Checkers!

Who says the title has to cover all the writings of this post?!  I happened to play checkers.  Whoopee!

I spent the weekend at home, really did very little of any value.  We went up to Dundee (near West Bend) and closed up the trailer for the summer.  We often spend weekends in the trailer by the lake, just to go tubing or waterskiing or swimming, or just to hang out in the sun.  The owners of the grounds were closing up for the season too, so I got some free ice cream and a few bags of chips that they needed to get rid of.  Free stuff rules!  I DID get to spend some time with my six year old half-brother, Travis, and babysat Saturday night.  He and I played a bunch of his Nintendo DS, and listened to my music.  I was entertained by the fact that he makes me turn up the music as loud as possible.  He also doesn't like to listen to music that has no words...We mostly just hung out doing nothing, which is the best way to spend a weekend, of course.  I think I went to bed at about...4 AM Sunday morning, gaming and waiting for Virginia to come back...

Sunday morning, got up at about 9:30 or 10AM, and had some BACON, mushroom, and black olive quiche for breakfast, and then just sat around for the rest of the afternoon, after playing checkers with Travis (with one flawless victory!), and then playing some Kirby on his DS, and some classic Go Fish, followed by about 15 minutes of him trying (and failing) to get me to watch him ride his bike outside, then he gave up and was satisfied by just yelling HI to me through the screen door.  Kids these days...*rolls eyes*

After that, made a stop at Sam's Club for some food, and hit K-Mart and Target to buy some new hinges or something...And that was my weekend.  Pretty uneventful, but something interesting has to happen sooner or later.
