Trick or Treat

That's right, I went trick-or-treating this weekend.  I'm just that cool.

Not by myself, I swear!  I took my little brother out for earlyToTing in Tosa.  He was Scream, which I thought was funny, because being 6, he's too young to have any idea who or what Scream is.  Whatever...anyway, we were out for about 90 minutes, and I'm actually cool enough to be carrying my loot with me in case I get hungry around campus.  So if anyone in Wiki class reads this in the next 40 minutes, just ask, I'll pass you some.  Or come over here and have a look.

Anyway, basically...did that on Saturday, and the rest of the week was me sitting around gaming, typing, or sleeping.  Because that's what sick people do.

A pretty uneventful weekend.  I'm going to get back to coughing, typing, and eating candy now. :D

Spore

In the past few days, I've been getting back (if you can really get BACK into something that's less than two months old) into playing Spore.  I'm currently attempting to beat the space stage, which is the last stage of the game.  If you're a gamer with little else to do, you have to check it out.  It was made by Wil Wright, the creator of the Sims, a simulator of life.  Spore is a simulator of the process of evolution, from a single-celled organism, to life on land as a creature, to development of culture as a tribe, to industrial growth as a city, to space exploration.

Anyway, check out Spore, so that you can understand why I'm often sitting with my face glued to my laptop screen.

It's been a pretty uneventful day, as usual...Math, doctor's appointment for this stupid pinkeye (which is going away now, yay!), Spore, shower, lunch, choir, Wiki class, and now I'm sitting in the Union on my laptop.  I'm currently waiting for the beginning of a candlelight vigil for Haroon Khan, a UWM student who was murdered two weeks ago while selling his car.  R.I.P. Haroon.

I'm also really hungry, and now have no choice but to wait until I get back to the dorm to eat some sort of crappy microwaveable junk.  Yum!

Ok people, I've added Tetris to improve my blog.

Post your high scores in comments, and see if you can beat mine.  My current high is 15200.

Checkers!

Who says the title has to cover all the writings of this post?!  I happened to play checkers.  Whoopee!

I spent the weekend at home, really did very little of any value.  We went up to Dundee (near West Bend) and closed up the trailer for the summer.  We often spend weekends in the trailer by the lake, just to go tubing or waterskiing or swimming, or just to hang out in the sun.  The owners of the grounds were closing up for the season too, so I got some free ice cream and a few bags of chips that they needed to get rid of.  Free stuff rules!  I DID get to spend some time with my six year old half-brother, Travis, and babysat Saturday night.  He and I played a bunch of his Nintendo DS, and listened to my music.  I was entertained by the fact that he makes me turn up the music as loud as possible.  He also doesn't like to listen to music that has no words...We mostly just hung out doing nothing, which is the best way to spend a weekend, of course.  I think I went to bed at about...4 AM Sunday morning, gaming and waiting for Virginia to come back...

Sunday morning, got up at about 9:30 or 10AM, and had some BACON, mushroom, and black olive quiche for breakfast, and then just sat around for the rest of the afternoon, after playing checkers with Travis (with one flawless victory!), and then playing some Kirby on his DS, and some classic Go Fish, followed by about 15 minutes of him trying (and failing) to get me to watch him ride his bike outside, then he gave up and was satisfied by just yelling HI to me through the screen door.  Kids these days...*rolls eyes*

After that, made a stop at Sam's Club for some food, and hit K-Mart and Target to buy some new hinges or something...And that was my weekend.  Pretty uneventful, but something interesting has to happen sooner or later.

Mmm...Naps!

Just had to stop in for a minute and mention that naps are my new favorite activity.  I've taken a three hour nap twice this week, right after class, 9:30 to noon thirty, and it feels AWESOME!  Especially if you're the type of person who likes to stay up all night doing absolutely nothing of any value...yay gaming!

I usually spend the night gaming and chatting on Kongregate, so come and join me!

Back to Wiki class now...

A Rainy Sunday

OK, here's my first blog post. Ever. Sorry I don't have anything funny to say, but it's just another depressingly rainy Sunday. Much as I love rain, it's very sad and gray out there.

Just came back from my grandfather's condo (which he hasn't used since 2001) in the Wisconsin Dells last night, where I hung out with my dad after emptying most of a 10 foot cube storage space, then loaded it into a 5' x 10' trailer to take it all to the garage storage up in the Dells. Loaded the garage (found an old broken canoe in there that my dad didn't know still existed), and then went into the condo, which was a big blast from the past...

I explored the cabinets, which contained mostly dishes (like plates from the 70's). I found a few cans of Spam and Vienna Sausage, which don't expire until June 2009. Wow. Found a few chewed up packages of peanut M&Ms. I looked in the freezer, found some freezer-burned chicken nuggets. Then there was the bag of frozen fries so old and dry that all the water had evaporated completely, leaving dry fries that weren't even frozen or cold. I found a box of Kleenex copyright 1985. The TV has a dial! It was like walking back in time...

Anyway, I'm going to wrap up, cuz I've got gaming and "homework" to do, so I'll write again laters.
