The Philippines!...Soon

Hello all,

I was intending to spend an entire day when I got back from the Philippines creating an epic chain of blog-to-photo-album links that would completely document my trip to the Philippines, but I was instead stricken by what appears to be the flu virus and have been stuck in bed for three days.  I promise I'll get it out there as soon as I can get moving again!

Also, the day after I got back was, unfortunately, Obama's Inauguration Day, and I basically slept through the whole thing. So, in honor of Obama Day,  I add this picture of Obama chocolate bars that I took in the duty-free shop at the airport.

I'm Older!

Huzzah!  I got older and stuff...last Thursday.  Not very fascinating, I know.  Didn't really do much, actually...I went to classes and all, napped as usual, and basically just had a reasonably normal day except for the sushi dinner, which was fantastic...Been about 6 months since I've had some real sushi.

Raked in some cash on Amazon, some Green Bay Packers goodies, and cards and love from my awesome girlfriend!  I also bought myself a big pack of games on Steam, like Counter-Strike, Half-Life 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and Portal!  Great birthday, thanks to everyone who made it awesome!

Keyboard Shortcuts

Pet Peeve Number One:

I hate it when people take all the time to click through drop-down menus and such just to copy and paste!  CTRL + C!  CTRL + V!  It's not that hard, people!  Ugh...

Skid!

Well, just as I thought, no one's actually reading this blog anymore.  No one from class, anyway.

I've been limping slightly with this wicked scrape I got on my knee from falling by the bus...If people didn't crowd around the bus so much, I wouldn't have this problem, now would I?

No one's paying attention to my giant candy supply either, except Alex.  I guess he wins!

CANDY! (1 of 3)

Ok people, it's a few days after Halloween, so I went and picked up a massive supply of candy.  This is my first of what I hope to have of three runs.  One for the initial sale, one for the 75% off point, and one (if I can time it just right) to hit the 90% off sales.  It's a skill.  Anyway, I have 8.4 pounds of candy, which I will be lugging around all day...because I can, frankly.  So if you pay attention to this, ask me for some.  I'm the Candyman.  I always share. :D

Trick or Treat

That's right, I went trick-or-treating this weekend.  I'm just that cool.

Not by myself, I swear!  I took my little brother out for earlyToTing in Tosa.  He was Scream, which I thought was funny, because being 6, he's too young to have any idea who or what Scream is.  Whatever...anyway, we were out for about 90 minutes, and I'm actually cool enough to be carrying my loot with me in case I get hungry around campus.  So if anyone in Wiki class reads this in the next 40 minutes, just ask, I'll pass you some.  Or come over here and have a look.

Anyway, basically...did that on Saturday, and the rest of the week was me sitting around gaming, typing, or sleeping.  Because that's what sick people do.

A pretty uneventful weekend.  I'm going to get back to coughing, typing, and eating candy now. :D

Spore

In the past few days, I've been getting back (if you can really get BACK into something that's less than two months old) into playing Spore.  I'm currently attempting to beat the space stage, which is the last stage of the game.  If you're a gamer with little else to do, you have to check it out.  It was made by Wil Wright, the creator of the Sims, a simulator of life.  Spore is a simulator of the process of evolution, from a single-celled organism, to life on land as a creature, to development of culture as a tribe, to industrial growth as a city, to space exploration.

Anyway, check out Spore, so that you can understand why I'm often sitting with my face glued to my laptop screen.

It's been a pretty uneventful day, as usual...Math, doctor's appointment for this stupid pinkeye (which is going away now, yay!), Spore, shower, lunch, choir, Wiki class, and now I'm sitting in the Union on my laptop.  I'm currently waiting for the beginning of a candlelight vigil for Haroon Khan, a UWM student who was murdered two weeks ago while selling his car.  R.I.P. Haroon.

I'm also really hungry, and now have no choice but to wait until I get back to the dorm to eat some sort of crappy microwaveable junk.  Yum!
